American Express has sent out a survey regarding possible changes to the Blue Cash Preferred card. Various options of the card were presented and responders had to choose their favorite. Some things to note from the survey:
- All options included an increase annual fee from $135 – $160 (currently $95)
- One option included 8% on grocery (on up to $6,000 in spend). Currently this is 6%
- Various credit options (e.g $10 for Resy, AI subscription or Cloud storage)
- Petsmart savings/credit on two options
Not a huge surprise that American Express wants an increase annual fee and monthly credits given how popular it has been on other cards (and presumably profitable). These surveys often don’t amount to anything but it’s a good indication that American Express is at least considering changes. You can find more rumored card launches here.
